What we believe

As a body of believers, Rhema is fully persuaded in whom and what we believe. We believe God (line upon line, precept upon precept). God's Word is truth! If God said it, that settles it, regardless of who does or does not believe it. All things are possible to them who believe (Mark 9:23). It is important for you to know what we believe.

We Believe in the whole counsel of God, that the Bible is the Word of God, that the Bible interprets itself and needs no private interpretation, and that it was penned by holy men of old, as they were moved by the Holy Spirit (2Peter 1:20-21). You must study the Word of God to truly know God's will, to be approved of Him, and to rightly divide the Word of Truth (2Timothy 2:15).

We Believe in the Trinity, that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are one Godhead, but three distinct persons (Deut. 6:4, John 14:9-11, Eph. 4:4-6). We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God (John 3:16); He is the Word of God (John 1:1); He is God incarnate (John 1:14, Phil. 2:5-11).

We Believe that man was created in the image of God, after His likeness (Gen. 1:26), but because of Adam's fall, everyone is born a sinner and is in need of a savior (Rom. 3:10, 23).

We Believe in the new birth, that you must be born again (John 3:6), that you must acknowledge that you are a sinner and in need of a savior; you must pray and invite Jesus Christ into your heart, believe that He died for your sins and rose agian the third day, and is now seated in heavenly places, that whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:9-10, 13).

We Believe that eternal life is received by living for Jesus Christ (John 3:15-17) and eternal damnation is received if you choose not to live for Jesus (Mark 3:29, John 3:18-20). Time is simply a small portion of eternity. At the end of time, death and hell will be cast into the Lake of Fire (Rev. 20:13-15). Hell was prepared for the devil and his angels (Matt. 25:41), not for people, but many will end up there because of their unbelief. We believe that each individual decides where he or she will spend eternity.

We Believe that we are living in the end times. The Bible speaks of the perilous times that shall come in these last days: men shall be selfish, covetous, boasters, proud, children shall be disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, despisers of those that are good, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying the powers thereof; men's hearts failing them for fear; there shall be wars and rumors of wars; nations shall rise against nations; famines, pestilences, earthquakes in different places, etc. (see: Matt.25; Luke 21:25-28; 2Tim. 3:1-7; James 5:1-5; 2Peter 3:1-3). These are all signs of the end times.

We Believe that water baptism is a commandment of God. (Matt. 28:19)

We Believe that once you are saved, you should receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit and the nine gifts of the Spirit: the Word of wisdom, the Word of knowledge, Faith, Gifts of healing, Working of miracles, Prophecy, Discerning of spirits, Tongues, and Interpretation of tongues (1Cor. 12:7-11). The spirit-filled believer is equipped with spiritual weapons of warfare 2Cor. 10:4-6).

We Believe that the Ten Commandments were given as a schoolmaster (tutor) to bring us to Christ that we might be justified by faith (Gal. 3:24). We are no longer under the law, but under grace -- God's unmerited favor (Rom. 6:24-25). If you break one commandment, you have broken them all (James 2:10). The first and great commandment is love (Matt. 22:37-38). Love is the fulfillment of the law (Rom. 13:8, 10). We believe that God is love (1John 4:8), that faith works by love (Gal. 5:5), and we are to serve one another by love (Gal. 5:13).

We Believe that when you give your tithes and offerings, God opens the windows of heaven and pours out blessings that you won't have room enough to receive, and He rebukes the devourer for your sake. You must give bountifully to reap bountifully. (Matt. 3:8-12, Heb. 7, Luke 6;38, 2Cor. 9:6-7).

We Believe that prayer is the believer's most formidable weapon. Whatever the believer binds on earth shall be bound in heaven, and whatever is loosed in heaven shall be loosed on earth (Matt. 16:19). Heaven moves at earth's command.

We Believe that everything that has breath should praise the Lord (Ps. 150), that you can know God through praise, and that God inhabits the praises of His people (Ps. 22:3). We praise the Lord because He is God, the only living and true God.

We Believe that the church is a family of believers.

Come and be a part of the Rhema family.

There is a place here just for you.

We believe that you will love it.
